How Do You Make A Great Film?

By Karri Owens

Film making is always a team performance where other members like cinematographer, producer, designer etc play a critical role. A film maker needs to gather the helpfulness of others as well. Film Making is likely taught through a college's film school or cinematic arts program, while Television Production may be given through the journalism or mass communications program.

Film making is constructed of numerous elements. It is ultimately about the story. But, film making is a risky business at the best of times. Even when you put in your best efforts you are never sure about the returns on the investment. Film making is such a science and no one has the formula. If they did, then every film would be a hit and would be sold for a priceless amount.

With actors like John Cusack and Joan Cusack, film making can be a success when you have an actor or actress that can bring forth such amazing qualities to the making of the film.

Film directors are responsible for determining camera angles, lens effects, lighting, and set design and will frequently take part in hiring key crew members. They coordinate the actors moves and also may be involved in the writing, financing, and editing of a film.

The producer oversees the entire process as well as coordinating, supervising and controlling matters such as fund-raising, hiring key personnel such as the film director, other producers involved on production, line producer, accountant and arranging for distribution. They also guide and control creating the scenes and conditions for making movies. Directors, agents, and studio heads can be impediments, too, as much as allies. Actors, producers, and directors express observations and create images in theater, film, radio, television, and other performing arts media. They interpret a writer's script to entertain, advise, or instruct an audience.

The producer may also work with the director in picking movie ideas as well as in hiring the scriptwriter, cast and crew. Movie producers are filmmakers who must be centered on obtaining sufficient financing as well as on distributing the finished feature to theaters. - 40726
