A Few Of The Greatest Acting Performances From The Very Interesting Thespian, Natalie Portman

By Eric Roberts

Plain and simple, Natalie Portman is a terrific actress. Aside from the fact that she is easy on the eyes, she brings poise and versatility to any and every film in which she stars. This Long Island, New York native takes her career very seriously and has a knack for picking great films.

This article will highlight what I consider to be Natalie Portman's best films to date.

The first movie that I will discuss is one of her oldest films, but still one of my favorites. I am of course talking about The Fugitive, in which she stars as a traumatized young girl named Matilda, who is taken in by her hitman neighbor, played by Jean Reno.

Another great movie in which she has starred is Closer. This movie features an all star ensemble including Portman, Jude Law, Clive Owen and Julia Roberts. This film is not your traditional love story by any means.

Another film that is very much deserving of discussion is Heat. Few people even realize that Natalie Portman was in this film, but she had the small role of Lauren Gustafson. If you have never seen Heat and are a fan of heist films, you must.

It would be foolish to make a list of the best Natalie Portman movies without giving praise to the Star Wars franchise. Sure, the most recent three do not come close to the originals, but I thought she was great in the role of Padme/Queen Amidala.

The last movie that I will include on this list is V For Vendetta. This is one of more clever action films in years past. Hugo Weaving stars as V, a vigilante and borderline terrorist in a post modern Great Britain. Some of the fight scenes in this movie are visually insane.

As it stands, this is my Natalie Portman best-of list. I look forward to any future films she puts out. - 40726
